MAGTHANITE™ is a proprietary blend of inert and magnetic powders, which facilitates and enhances the delivery of an active ingredient into the harbourages of cockroaches and other social insects.

The basic concept derives from the fact that a cockroach’s exoskeleton is magnetic. Therefore a magnetic powder containing an active ingredient will adhere to the exoskeleton and is carried back to the harbourage by a foraging cockroach, and transmitted to other cockroaches.

When compared with conventional dusts and powders which work electrostatically, MAGTHANITE™ ‘s magnetic properties deliver superior results in the two critical areas of adhesion and transferability. MAGTHANITE™’s innovative technology has significant benefits and advantages compared with conventional gel and powder insect control technologies; recent testing has confirmed the feasibility of future potential applications in the control of ants, termites and bedbugs.

Research & Development activities are undertaken in collaboration with independent contract research organizations (CROs) and university entomology departments, and ensure the on-going sustainability and relevance of the technology to crawling insect control.
