Efficacy

Superior Adhesion and Transferability Properties

Magnetic technology confers superior levels of both adhesion to the exoskeleton of the cockroach and successful transfer of powder to other cockroaches.  The quantity of powder adhering to a cockroach and the average quantity transferred was measured in a comparative experiment with MAGTHANITE™  powder (magnetic) and an inert talc (electrostatic).

Rapid and Effective Control in the Harbourage

Tests with a number of cockroach strains (even a resistant one) showed rapid and effective control, with varying concentrations of active ingredient.

Active ingredient: fipronil.
Species: Blattella germanica.

Effective with Lower Concentration of Active Ingredient

Since the active ingredient is carried into the harbourage on the exoskeleton of a forgaging cockroach by direct transfer, as opposed to in an ingested state, MAGTHANITE™ has proved effectiveness at lower concentrations of active ingredient than found in gels.

Effective with Broad Spectrum of Active Ingredients

Currently, products utilizing the MAGTHANITE™ technology work with a variety of actives.  In each case, since the technology acts as a delivery system for bringing the active directly into the harbourage, it has enabled the active to function at maximum effectiveness.  In each market, local regulations and product registrations dictate the choice of active ingredient.  Among the active ingredients used or tested are examples of each of the major chemical classes or sub-groups.

Comparative Performance

MAGTHANITE™ proved effective in combination with several active ingredients, and has superior effectiveness and rapidity of control when compared to AVERT® Dry Flowable Powder, a product used widely in the USA and Europe.
